Summary: Jaejoong and Yoochun share a drink. Day 6 of Ho!Ho!ShinKi
Warning: A brief mention of the lawsuit.
Disclaimer: If I owned them, we'd all be getting a reunion concert for Christmas.
"Egg nog," Yoochun says in his accented English as he pours the creamy liquid into a glass.
"Egg nogu," Jaejoong repeats dutifully. He brings the glass to his face and sniffs. The liquid is thick and frothy and smells like a baked good. Jaejoong frowns into his glass, but Yoochun chugs his whole drink in one gulp.
"My parents use to serve this at their Christmas parties back in the States," Yoochun says with a smile. He licks the froth from his upper lip. "Spiked, of course."
Jaejoong takes a tentative sip. The taste isn't bad, but he's not sure if he can tolerate the texture.
"Yoohwan and I used to sneak mugs of this stuff out of the fridge during the night after everyone left," Yoochun continues. "It's not bad with cookies." Yoochun pours himself another glass as Jaejoong takes another swallow. This sip is better than the first.
"What's in this?" Jaejoong asks, licking his lips.
"Brandy. So finish that up 'cause that stuff isn't cheap."
Jaejoong hesitates a moment before throwing the drink back and gulping down the contents of the glass. He fights the impulse to choke and instead focuses on the warmth shooting down his throat. It feels nice. Jaejoong leans his head against Yoochun and motions for him to pour him another drink.
They've been sitting in their dark, warm living room, watching the flames blaze in their fireplace, for the last three hours. They don't speak much and neither of them feels the need to. That's how things have always been between them. Natural. Comfortable.
The peace is broken by Jaejoong. "I miss them," he says quietly.
Yoochun wraps an arm around his hyung and pulls him closer. "I know."
"If you weren't with me…" Jaejoong lets the sentence trail off as if even he doesn't know what would have happened to him without the other.
"Cheer up, hyung." Yoochun clinks their glasses together before finishing another glass of nog. "It's Christmas."
The older man smiles and downs his glass, as well. Jaejoong can feel the nog starting to take affect. His eyelids begin to droop, his face flushes and for some reason, Yoochun begins to look very, very comfortable.
Jaejoong stretches out and places his head in Yoochun's lap. He nudges the other man with his glass. Yoochun takes the hint and refills it.
"This is nice, Chunnie," Jaejoong says as he closes his eyes and melts into the other man.
Yoochun runs his hand through Jaejoong's silky hair and twists a lock of it around his finger. "Yeah, it is," he murmurs softly. He leans down and places a kiss on Jaejoong's forehead. "Merry Christmas, hyung. I love you."
Jaejoong sighs and closes his eyes. He grabs Yoochun's hand from his hair and laces their fingers together. "Love you, too, Chunnie."
A/N: I was gonna make this an unrequited love fic, but I didn't want to bring us all down. It is supposed to be the season of joy.
